Where Wanderlog is the better choice
- Road trips. The route optimizer and the map-first layout are the best in the category.
- You are still deciding where to go and want to browse places, restaurants and guides inside the app.
- You plan on a laptop with friends editing at the same time.
- You want a capable free tier and never intend to pay.
Where Solo is the better choice
- The trip is booked. You have the confirmations and want the app, not a blank itinerary to fill in.
- You want the whole trip to feel like one app: the destination at the top, days laid out, tickets and hotels in the right places.
- You travel with family or friends and want everyone on the same app without accounts.

- Do I have to type my trip into Solo like Wanderlog?
- No. Send your booking confirmations as PDFs, screenshots or forwarded emails and Solo builds the day-by-day itinerary from them.
- Can I still edit a Solo trip?
- Yes. Add, move or rename anything, and add more bookings any time at no extra cost.
- Does Solo have a map?
- Yes. Every stop in the trip is on the Map tab. Wanderlog’s route optimizer for road trips is a feature Solo does not have.
- Do my travel companions need an account?
- No. Share one link or QR code and the whole trip opens for them. They never pay.
